Model railway - Locomotives

BR 50

BR 50 BR 50

The Baureihe 50 was part of Deutsch Reichsbahn's "Einheitslok" (standard locomotive) program. Along with others in the program, it used standard interchangeable components. This provided a huge advantage as the locomotives could be serviced at any locomotive works instead of having to be taken where it was built. It was a hugely successful engine - more than 3000 were built, and they could be seen all around Germany hauling mostly goods trains but also some passenger trains.

The model is 26.4 cm long and constructed almost entirely of metal. Only the tender body is plastic. It has an MFX decoder with sound effects, telex coupler on the rear and a smoke generator.
